The Criterion Collection Releases

On April 11th Criterion Collection released The Fisher King (1991) on 4k, Blu-ray & DVD. Special Features include:

• Audio commentary featuring Gilliam

• Interviews with Gilliam, producer Lynda Obst, screenwriter Richard LaGravenese, and actors Jeff Bridges, Amanda Plummer, and Mercedes Ruehl

• Interviews with artists Keith Greco and Vincent Jefferds on the creation of the film’s Red Knight

The Vinegar Syndrome Releases

This month Vinegar Syndrome released for pre-order VACATION OF TERROR (1989), VACATION OF TERROR 2 (1991), CURSE OF THE BLUE LIGHTS (1988), 5 WOMEN FOR THE KILLER (1974), THE CAT CREEPS (1946), CLIMAX! (1985) & WET DREAMS (1985). All in limited quantities and all on Blu-Ray.

Vinegar Syndrome partnered with AGFA (American Genre Film Archive) to release 16 movies. A few festival winners (THE CIVIL DEAD, THE GREAT BASIN, SOMETHING IN THE DIRT, TAMING THE GARDEN), foreign rarities getting US HD debuts (BULLETS OVER SUMMER, THE HOURGLASS SANITORIUM, TIME OF ROSES, THE WOUNDED MAN), high profile auteur cinema (SPEAKING PARTS), renegade low budget indie filmmaking (FULL MOON TRILOGY, JUSTICE NINJA STYLE, RED COCKROACHES), contemporary Estonian horror (KRATT), a documentary about the vinyl resurgence (VINYL NATION) and two sought after reissues from AGFA (LADY STREETFIGHTER and THE ZODIAC KILLER)!

88 Films Releases

88 Films has released a pre-order for GOD OF GAMBLERS (1989). It comes with double walled slipcase, trailers & interviews with the director Wong Jing.
